UNITED ROTORCRAFT SOLUTIONS DELIVERS CUSTOMIZED EUROCOPTER EC130 TO CANNON AVIATION GROUP

DECATUR, TX, MARCH 3, 2010 - United Rotorcraft Solutions (URS) delivered a customized Eurocopter EC130 to Cannon Aviation Group of Georgetown, TX on March 3, 2010.

Configured to meet the requirements of Cannon’s customer, URS completed the EC130 with a Sagem Integrated Cockpit Display, Avidyne TAS 610 TCAS, a Garmin GMX200 MFD, Garmin 696, L-3 WX-500 Stormscope and Garmin GMA340 audio panel, 7 station VOX ICS with BOSE series X headsets. This helicopter also received a VIP leather interior with soundproofing, Tech Tool bronze tinted windows, and IFS air conditioner, AFS inlet barrier filter, Dual Flight Controls and a custom exterior paint scheme.

The helicopter arrived at the URS facility in December and was completed within 12 weeks. A high priority for United Rotorcraft Solutions is meeting the customer’s delivery requirements.

"United Rotorcraft Solutions (URS) has been awarded a contract by Cannon Aviation Group to customize an Agusta A119, two Bell 407’s and a Eurocopter EC130. Cannon has configured these helicopters to meet their customers’ requirements. The aircraft began arriving at the URS facility this week with delivery expected by mid-February."

Our First Look at the Eurocopter Lakota

Working at the Georgetown Municipal Airport with a view of the runway and the terminal from our offices has its perks! This morning the Cannon Crew went running out the door to take photos of this Eurocopter Lakota that landed on the ramp outside our door.

We are not sure what its "Top Secret Mission" was, but we were thrilled to have the chance to see this aircraft in person!

On Monday December 12, 2008 Cannon Aviation Group sponsored "Flying Santa" in Leander, Texas. Santa arrived in our beautiful Eurocopter EC120B on a brisk morning to pick up the donated toys.

The 500 kids at Parkside Elementary LISD were incredibly generous and gave over 900 toys to the Blue Santa & Hill Country Christmas Bureau.

Santa landed his helicopter on their football field to personally thank the children. It was amazing and we've been told it'll be covered on the local Fox News channel during their 5pm broadcast (close to 5:20ish). The Leander Police & Fire departments were on hand as Santa's flight crew.

We are proud to announce and welcome a new member to our Team! Andy Cordova is our new Project Manager. Although he started with us in April, he is now full time and a permanent addition to our team.

Andy's go team attitude and enthusiasm make him an excellent Project Manager- our new motto around the office is "Andy Can!"

Andy’s Aviation background includes:

- Line Maintenance/Line Maintenance Lead for 747 customers like Japan Airlines and Evergreen Airlines in Anchorage, Alaska
- Integrating customer solutions and liaison for customers like FedEx and UPS with local businesses in Alaska, as well
- U.S.A.F. Military Aircraft
- Managing day-to-day small ramp operations and team organization at local FBO’s

When Andy’s not enjoying the sight and sounds of the airport, he believes in adrenaline-induced activities, such as cycling, motorsports, being involved with his local church and the youth Ministry there … and trying to keep up with his wife of 15 years and their 3 young children!

It's Raining Golf Balls for a Good Cause!

Juniper Hill Golf Course in Northbourough, Massachusetts recently hosted Juniper Hill's Patriot Golf Day Helicopter Ball Drop. This event raised money for the Folds of Honor Foundation which provides scholarships for those who have become disabled or lost their lives in the line of military duty.

Our very own Evan Wile took up the Bell 206L3 for the Ball Drop. The Bell 206L3 has since sold, and just arrived to it's new home in Argentina. At least it got in a round of golf before it had left the States...

A New Home for Cannon Aviation - 505 Terminal Drive!

The Loss of our Friend Larry Hagerman - How you can help his family

As many of you know our dear friend Larry Hagerman, owner of Aircraft Certification Services in Taylor, Texas, lost his life in a tragic accident on Thursday April 10. Many of you have asked what you can do for Larry's Children, so we wanted to share the following message that Brad Benne sent to us this morning:

"I have received many e-mails asking what/how/where can help be provided. Following are two ways to help:

Gift Cards
Gift cards to Wal-Mart, Target, HEB, & local restaurants. These gift cards will be invaluable for months to come. (Please contact Christy for information about sending these cards to the family)

Donations can be made to either the First Baptist Church Pflugerville-Building Fund, or the Hagerman Children Trust.

Larry & Denetta were very active members in the Church and gave significantly of their time, money, and talents to the Church. It was their wish to see the Church grow through your gifts.

Georgetown Airport's New Control Tower - Progress Report

We're very excited that the Georgetown Municpal Airport will soon have its own control tower. The new tower will be located directly next door to Cannon Aviation Group's office! Today they finished putting up the last of the walls, and placed the large "cab" on the top of the tower. We hopped in the EC120B and took these "exclusive" photos of the progress!

Our very own Deakon Carson was interviewed for our local ABC affiliate, KVUE 24 news. Deakon was chosen out of all of the airport and city officials present- not even the Mayor was interviewed! It's just further proof that when you need an aviation expert you need someone from Cannon to answer your questions! One of Cannon Aviation's favorite helicopters is the Eurocopter EC120B. We love them so much that we find every excuse we can to go out flying when we have one in the hangar. The other day we took this 2000 model out to fly over the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" house- everyone needs to see that from the air don't they? This awesome helicopter is immediately available, even though we'll hate to see it go. Look at the spec sheet here, and email us if you'd like any additional info.

By the way, we didn't see anything spooky going on at the "Chainsaw" house. It looked just like any other house in a Texas corn field as you can see below.

Bell 407 Imported from Turkey

As a part of our new blog, we've decided to keep you updated on all of the exciting things happening here at the office. Take a look at this awesome Bell 407 we just imported from Turkey:

We helped our client in Utah purchase this aircraft in Turkey, and made all of the arrangements for its disassembly and shipment from Istanbul. It made it's way across the Atlantic, and arrived here in beautiful condition. We also handled the export from Turkey, and the import into the USA. Now it's being configured for EMS work in Seattle before going to it's new home in Utah. We almost hate to see the new interior go in, because the corporate interior was perfect.
This is the second Bell 407 we've sold in the last 9 months. We imported the other one from Switzerland, and sold it to Bell helicopter. Here's a photo of it playing in the snow before it came to the United States last fall:
